The idea of performing a one-woman show was planted inside of Briana Morris. It was something she never aspired to do, but she could't shake the thought.
Pitch deck for WHOA MAN completed. By the end of July 2019, Briana begins meeting with and assembling a creative team in Los Angeles for her first-ever solo show.
The first draft of WHOA MAN completed.
Briana begins working with Creative Producer Nickolas Vaughan on character development and story outline for the show.
The second draft of WHOA MAN completed.
WHOA MAN is accepted into the 2020 Rhino Theatre Festival in Chicago. By September 20, 2019, Briana completes the third draft of WHOA MAN. The fourth draft of the script is completed on September 23, 2019. Briana also begins documenting her creative process through weekly YouTube vlogs in a series called "I AM WHOA MAN."
By October 7, 2019, Briana completes the fifth draft of WHOA MAN. The sixth draft of the script is completed on October 19, 2019. Rehearsals officially begin for the show in Los Angeles.
The creative/producing team is assembled both in Los Angeles, California and Chicago, Illinois. The Los Angeles Team consisted of Tiffany Yvonne Cox (Director), Nickolas Vaughan (Creative Producer), and Naarai Jacobs (Musical Consultant). The Chicago Team consisted of Glenance Green (Producer), Aira Alcantara (Producer), and Eugene Parker who served as a Producer both in Los Angeles and Chicago.
The seventh draft of WHOA MAN is completed.
The table read for WHOA MAN takes place at Thymele Arts in Los Angeles, CA to an intimate crowd of invited attendees.
By January 4, 2020, Briana completes the eighth draft of WHOA MAN. The ninth draft of the script is completed on January 21, 2020.
Rehearsals and tech week for the premiere of WHOA MAN begin in Chicago.
WHOA MAN, a one-woman show by Briana Morris premieres at the Rhino Theatre Fest in Chicago, IL to rave reviews.
A global pandemic shuts down the entertainment and arts industry indefinitely.
Briana finishes and completes the tenth draft of WHOA MAN.
